This is not a conventional book. It is a collection of memoirs and journal entries written during episodes of depression, mania, psychosis, disassociation and alcohol abuse. It depicts the author’s life from a toddler through teenage angst, into a military career and up to his life saving decision to give up alcohol.
Schnerch was finally at his crossroads which left him to either choose to die by his own hands or try one more shot in the dark. Of course, he chose the latter.

He decided to document every broken thought and memory to paper in hopes of discovering the secrets to his inner pain.

Brutally honest and poignant, Patrick describes some key factors that may have led him down the road he chose. They are not excuses, but form a picture which the pieces of the puzzle started to fall in place. Schnerch then went full circle and accepted his past. He has since put this behind him and moved into the future.
